Sathura Adi 3500
With horror films being the current toast of Kollywood, director Jaison has tried to dish out one in ‘Sathura Adi 3500’, a film starring Rahman, Ineya and others in key roles.
Besides Rahman and Ineya, the film has many popular faces in the cast and the list includes Pratap Pothen, MS Bhaskar, Kovai Sarala, Thalaivasal Vijay, Saravana Subbaiah and Mano Bala.
The story goes like this: A man dies in a suspicious manner and a police officer is asked to investigate her death. As he starts probe, he encounters many eerie things.
The ghost of the man who died appears wherever he goes and things get complicated. How the man died? Was it a murder? What is the ‘ghost’ trying to convey? These things form the rest of the movie.
Rahman has come up with a measured performance, while Ineya is menacing and touching equally. Nikhil Mohan is good. Though they are many seasoned artistes, none of them has been utilised to their full capacity.
Technically, the film is good. The director has conceived an interesting knot and made a decent presentation. But things could have been far better had he concentrated more on conveying things in a gripping manner.
