Arun Vijay gets bail after surrender
Actor Arun Vijay who was recently under the police scanner for drunken driving, surrendered yesterday. He also came out with an official statement in this regard.
According to sources, the actor was granted bail after he was produced in a city court.
In his statement, he said, “To all my fans and well wishers, I have no reason to hide and I did not commit a stupendous crime! I had not been in town for reasons related to work and due to my mental agony. As a law abiding citizen, I shall face the charges against me. I do not know why the issue got blown out of proportion without getting the facts straight and not knowing the real picture. Also I have no clue as to what is happening around me. Whatever the situation, I shall prove my innocence in the court of law”.
It may be noted that on August 27, the ‘Vaa Deal’ star was returning home after attending the wedding reception of Rayane, daughter of Radhikaa Sarathkumar, at a star hotel here, when he
rammed his car into a stationary vehicle belonging to the Nungambakkam police station.
Arun however escaped without injuries, while the police which subsequently conducted inquiries on him, found him drunk.
He was booked under sections 185 of the Motor Vehicles Act and 279 of the IPC, but he had left the station the same day.
