One of the latest hits in the Malayalam industry is ‘Oppam’, that released last week to tremendous response.
Critically acclaimed for its story and treatment, the Mohanlal-starrer seems to have impressed stars in Kollywood too.
Sources say, Kamal Haasan has expressed his interest to remake the project. “The ‘Tenali’ star watched a special screening of the film, and had appreciated director Priyadarshan for his work”, said sources, adding that Kamal felt the movie would work in Tamil too.
It may be noted that Kamal had earlier starred in the remake of ‘Drishyam’ last year, that had Mohanlal again in the original.
‘Oppam’ revolved around a blind man and his attempts to clear himself from a murder mystery.
Produced by Antony Perumbavoor, the film also featured Samuthirakanni, Vimala Raman and Nedumudi Venu in key roles.
