MS Dhoni The Untold Story

– Review

While ‘Captain Cool’ Mahendra Singh Dhoni carries the burden of the team on field, Sushanth Singh Rajput who plays his character in the Biopic has single handedly stole the show with his dedication.

Directed by Neeraj Pandey, ‘MS Dhoni – The Untold Story’ is one of the most expected sports biopic in the Indian film industry. The director has left out most of the controversies in Dhoni’s career and has focussed only on the struggle and the personal life of the Indian ODI and T20 skipper before he made it in to the squad.

Sushanth Singh Rajput has not acted as Dhoni, but has lived as him. The pain which he had to endure to replicate the mannerism of Dhoni is reflected on the silver screen. He has emoted well taking the audience in a emotional coaster ride.

Whlie Kiara Advani plays the role of Dhoni’s wife Sakshi,  Disha Patani is apt as Dhoni’s girlfriend Priyanka Jha. All her love scenes with Sushanth have been etched wonderfully. Anupam Kher brings a lot of depth to the proceedings as Dhoni’s dad. Bhoomika Chawla is superb as Dhoni’s sister.

Background score elevates the movie to another level and the cinematography is pure bliss.
